Beautiful circa 1930s-40s celluloid plastic bangle features lovely molded and raised detailed flower work and two detailed elephants. Sometimes this type of bangle is referred to as carved celluloid, but it is actually molded. This captivating vintage bangle is comprised of an array of flowers including roses, mums, daisies punctuated by two elephant heads. The elephant is considered an auspicious animal because the Chinese character for "elephant" has the same pronunciation as the Chinese word for "auspicious" or "lucky." The trunks-up elephants also represents happiness longevity and good fortune. The color of this vintage celluloid bangle is a deep ivory colored and truly shows off the exquisite floral motif.
